Effects of Individualized Step Targets on Physical Activity in COPD. A Randomized Study

Individualized step targets for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients increased physical activity (PA) and myokine levels over six months. Growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15) may play a role in this PA improvement.

- The findings suggest GDF-15 may be involved in mediating the positive effects of increased physical activity in COPD.
