Mycoplasma bovis immunogenic lipoprotein MbovP739 function as an inflammatory stimulating factor

Abstract:
Mycoplasma bovis is a successful pathogen that causes bovine respiratory diseases worldwide. Due to its lack of cell wall, lipoproteins, key components of the mycoplasma membrane, are believed to play an important role in nutrient acquisition, induction of immune response, and adherence. This study evaluated the immunogenicity of nine lipoproteins and tested the ability of immunogenic lipoproteins to induce pro-inflammatory cytokine expression. The lipoproteins MbovP468, MbovP537, and MbovP739 of M. bovis were found to have higher immunogenicity and induced a greater amount of pro-inflammatory cytokines in RAW264.7 cells. RNA-sequencing demonstrated MbovP739 induced an immune response and significantly upregulated chemokines and cytokines expression in BoMac cells. The IL-17 signaling pathway and TNF signaling pathway were activated by MbovP739 in BoMac cells. We conclude that the immunogenic lipoprotein MbovP739 functions as an inflammatory stimulating factor.
