Artificial intelligence (AI) in nursing education shows promise for enhancing critical thinking. However, nurse educators express concerns regarding reduced human interaction and ethical considerations.

Background:

The role of artificial intelligence (AI) in nursing education is expanding.
Limited understanding exists regarding nurse educators' experiences with AI integration.

Purpose of the Study:

To explore the experiences of nurse educators concerning the use of artificial intelligence in nursing education.
To identify perceptions, benefits, restrictions, and suggestions related to AI in nursing education.

Main Methods:

Qualitative phenomenological study design.
Involved 12 nurse educators from Türkiye and the USA.
Utilized maximum variation sampling.

Main Results:

Four primary themes emerged: Perception of AI, Benefits of AI in nursing, Restrictions of AI, and Suggestions for AI usage.
Thirteen subthemes were identified within these main themes.
AI can enhance critical thinking and decision-making skills in nursing education.

Conclusions:

AI integration in nursing education presents opportunities for improved educational quality.
Concerns include potential reduction in human interaction and ethical implications.
Further research and guidelines are needed for effective AI implementation.
