Highly selective separation of toluene/methylcyclohexane using clamparene-based 3D porous crystals

Abstract:
We demonstrate the application of clamparene-based 3D porous crystals as a purifying agent to effectively remove toluene from a mixture of methylcyclohexane and toluene. We found that clamparene can selectively adsorb toluene in a mixture of toluene and methylcyclohexane via host-guest interactions, achieving up to 99.4% purity.
