Abstract:
Diabetic wounds, recognized as the most prevalent chronic, difficult-to-heal wounds, severely impair patients' quality of life and impose a substantial socio-economic burden. The wounds' pathological manifestation is characterized by excessive inflammatory responses, with neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) identified as a core driver of this dysregulation. This review systematically elaborates the molecular mechanisms of NET in diabetic wound pathology. Crucially, it reveals NET's value, serving as both a novel therapeutic target and a biomarker for prognostic assessment, thereby furnishing the theoretical foundation and translational guidance necessary to overcome the current dilemmas in diagnosis and treatment.
