Summary

Optical coherence tomography did not reveal significant retinal layer thickness changes in early amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients compared to controls. Retinal layer thickness changes did not correlate with disease progression, suggesting OCT may not be ideal for monitoring ALS.
