  • Electroacupuncture demonstrated definite therapeutic effects across various outcome measures for poststroke UI.
  • Key acupuncture points identified include EX-HN1, BL23, RN3, RN4, BL32, SP6, GV20, RN6, and BL35, with all studies showing statistically significant improvements in UI severity.

Conclusions:

  • Electroacupuncture is a secure and efficacious alternative intervention for poststroke urinary incontinence.
  • EA exhibits substantial therapeutic potential, offering a promising treatment option.
  • Further large-scale, well-designed studies and international collaboration are recommended for comprehensive clinical evaluation.
