Abstract:
A novel dicopper(II, II) complex (Cpyrene) was attached on multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) electrodes resulting in a nanohybrid electrode (MWCNT@Cpyrene) able to partially oxidize toluene to benzaldehyde and benzyl alcohol with 300 and 409 TON h-1, respectively, in 1,2-difluorobenzene. Exchanging the solvent by acetonitrile leads to the additional N-benzylacetamide formation from the C-N coupling of toluene and in situ solvent oxidation with 313 TON h-1 at room temperature.
