Abstract:
Hurricane Helene exacerbated maternal health gaps in Western North Carolina's rural communities. Strengthening maternal care infrastructure, enhancing data collection, expanding mental health resources, addressing housing and food insecurity, and investing in community health workers are crucial for building health care resilience, reducing disparities, and protecting pregnant women and children during future climate-related disasters.
