Summary
Dogs with atopic dermatitis (AD) have lower levels of beneficial gut bacteria metabolites, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). This pilot study found significantly reduced acetic, propionic, and butyric acids in canine AD patients compared to healthy dogs.
