Abstract:
A face-capped tetrahedral metal-organic cage has been assembled from methoxy-functionalised C3-symmetric triamines and aldehydes in the presence of Zn2+ ions. This cage exhibits selective and efficient encapsulation of perylene dimers. This host-guest complex can further facilitate reactive oxygen species generation and demonstrate remarkable antibacterial activity under light irradiation.
