Transient Expression of Phytoplasma Proteins in Planta Using an Agro-Infiltration Method

Agrobacterium infiltration is a very versatile technique for the transient expression of a protein in plants. This technique allows the researcher to study a protein of interest in planta in a very short time. Although the method is well established, there are some limitations to the transient expression of a phytoplasma protein. In this chapter, we describe the method in detail and address some of the issues necessary to improve the efficiency of the method for the transient expression of phytoplasma proteins in planta.
