Female infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after a year of regular, unprotected intercourse and affects about 10–15% of couples worldwide. Background:

Pregnancy decision-making for women with physical disabilities presents unique challenges.
Understanding their specific informational needs is crucial for adequate support.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the pregnancy informational needs and decision-making processes of women with physical disabilities.
To identify key factors influencing their choices and areas of knowledge gaps.

Main Methods:

A cross-sectional, community-based study was conducted.
114 adult American women with physical disabilities participated via an online survey.
The survey assessed pregnancy information needs and decision-making experiences.

Main Results:

Key decision-making factors included risks to the baby (72.8%) and self (58.7%), partner happiness (65.8%), and long-term health effects (58.8%).
Participants reported limited knowledge regarding infant care equipment (57.9%) and adapting to bodily changes (54.4%).
While confident in healthcare providers, they noted variability in understanding individual concerns; crucial information on health conditions, infant care, and mobility was often hard to find.

Conclusions:

Pregnancy decision-making for women with physical disabilities is challenging, with concerns often heightened by disability-related issues.
Findings indicate a need for targeted interventions to enhance the pregnancy decision-making experience for this population.
