Double Resonance Techniques: Overview

Double resonance techniques in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy involve the simultaneous application of two different frequencies or radiofrequency pulses to manipulate and observe two distinct nuclear spins. Background:

  • Posterior wall isolation (PWI) is a common adjunct to pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) for persistent atrial fibrillation and redo ablations.
  • The procedural efficacy of the Affera pulsed field ablation (PFA) platform for PWI is not well-documented.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the procedural performance and acute success of PWI using the Affera Sphere-9 PFA system.
  • To assess procedural times, lesion characteristics, and complication rates associated with Affera PWI.
