Abstract:
Sodium titanate nanosheet-based electrode material is prepared via a solid-state high-temperature sintering method, and its energy storage performance is evaluated for supercapacitor applications. The material characterization studies confirmed the formation of sodium nanosheets, and the electrochemical studies (three-electrode system) exhibit excellent charge storage performance by achieving the specific capacitance of 670 F/g @ 1 A/g, and 175 F/g@10 A/g along with adequate stability (5000 cycles), coulombic efficiency (∼98.5%), and capacitance retention (∼99.0%). Moreover, an asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) energy storage system (two-electrode) was constructed using NTO nanosheets and activated carbon (AC), which exhibits the energy density of 16 Wh/kg and power density of 6500 W/kg @10 A/g with 10000 cycles of stability.
