Abstract:
Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) have emerged as promising candidates for CO2 adsorption and separation due to their highly tunable and controllable nature. In this context, we prepared a diaminotriazine-based HOF material with high stability, desired microporous structure, and easy regenerability, which thus exhibited good CO2 adsorption performance and selectivity under ambient conditions. The synergistic effect between the pore size and the electrostatic potential of the HOF creates an optimal environment for CO2 capture, and multiple hydrogen bonding interactions between CO2 molecules and the HOF enable efficient and specific separation of CO2/N2 mixtures. Meanwhile, the exceptional reusability of the HOF for CO2 capture is underpinned by its outstanding structural stability and efficient regenerability, these properties allowing it to maintain high adsorption capacity and performance across repeated cycles, making it a promising candidate for practical applications.
