Summary

Smartphone monitoring of coughs in patients hospitalized for acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) is feasible. Cough counts decreased over time and correlated with clinical markers, suggesting potential as a digital biomarker for early intervention.
