Evaluating prostate biopsy practices across Indian institutions: A multi-center prospective observational study

- Adenocarcinoma diagnosed in 61%. Transrectal biopsies showed higher CDR (61.3% vs. 47.2%) but increased infection rates (3.3% vs. 0%). Overall complication rate was 11%.

- Substantial variability in prostate biopsy practices necessitates standardized training in India.
- Standardization can enhance diagnostic accuracy and improve patient safety in prostate cancer diagnosis.
- Further research into optimal biopsy techniques and protocols is warranted.
