Purpose:
We assessed colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in community health organizations in the transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) population.
Methods:
Using the electronic health record data from patients served between 2014 and 2019, Poisson regression compared CRC screening by gender identity status.
Results:
Among 579,438 patients, 0.12% (n = 724) were TGD and 39% had no gender identity documented. There was no difference in the percentage of months spent being up-to-date by gender identity (adjusted rate ratio = 0.93, 95% confidence interval 0.86-1.01).
Conclusion:
In this setting, TGD and cisgender populations were screened at equivalent rates, likely reflecting these organizations' equitable care. Many patients lacked gender identity documentation.
