Background And Aims:
Esophageal fibrovascular polyps are rare benign tumors that usually present with dysphagia. Large polyps usually necessitate an aggressive type of surgery.
Methods:
We present the resection of a giant fibrovascular polyp using an endoscopic submucosal dissection technique followed by band ligation of the residual stump.
Results:
Endoscopic submucosal dissection was feasible and effective in complete resection of a giant polyp with subsequent relief of the presenting symptoms.
Conclusions:
Endoscopic submucosal dissection for such lesions is considered as a rescue therapeutic option whenever it is possible.
