Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of solriamfetol for treating excessive sleepiness in early-morning shift workers with SWD.
  • To assess solriamfetol's impact on objective and subjective sleepiness.

Main Methods:

  • A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 78 early-morning shift workers with SWD.
  • Primary outcome: change in sleep latency via Maintenance of Wakefulness Test.
  • Secondary outcomes: subjective sleepiness (Karolinska Sleepiness Scale) and clinical global impression scales.

Main Results:

  • Solriamfetol significantly reduced sleepiness compared to placebo (9.4-minute longer sleep latency; P<0.001).
