Causal relationship between chronic kidney disease and senile cataract: a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) does not directly cause senile cataract. However, rapid decline in kidney function may increase cataract risk, independent of diabetes. Ocular health monitoring is crucial for patients with declining kidney function.
