This study presents a successful microsurgical clip reconstruction for a complex carotid-posterior communicating artery aneurysm with a fetal posterior cerebral artery. The technique preserved critical posterior circulation, leading to excellent patient recovery and aneurysm exclusion.
Area of Science:
- Neurosurgery
- Vascular Neurology
- Radiology
Background:
- Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) presents complex challenges, particularly when involving the carotid-posterior communicating (PCom) artery junction with a fetal posterior cerebral artery (fPCA).
- This anatomical configuration necessitates treatment strategies that preserve critical posterior circulation branches.
