Summary

Microvesicles (MVs) differ in size and concentration in patients with chronic viral infections. Hepatitis B and C virus infections showed distinct MV profiles compared to HIV, suggesting MVs may be infection biomarkers.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To characterize and compare plasma microvesicle profiles in patients with HIV, HBV, and HCV.

Main Methods:

  • Plasma samples from 125 patients (HIV, HBV, HCV) were analyzed using nanoparticle tracking analysis (NanoSight NS300).
