A pediatric choroidal osteoma complicated by choroidal neovascularization (CNV) was successfully treated with intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) injections. This management led to significant regression of CNV and subretinal fluid, improving vision.
Area of Science:
- Ophthalmology
- Medical Imaging
- Oncology
Background:
- Choroidal osteoma is a rare, benign ossified tumor of the choroid.
- Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) can complicate choroidal osteomas, leading to vision loss.
- Pediatric cases of choroidal osteoma with CNV are uncommon and require specific management strategies.
