Abstract:

In 2025, the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the American Thoracic Society (ATS) jointly published a new guideline for the diagnosis of primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD). Based on the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) methodology, this guideline provides a rigorous systematic evaluation of existing diagnostic tools, superseding the previous separate guidelines issued by the two societies in 2017 and 2018. This article aims to interpret the core content of the new guideline and compare it with previous guidelines, with the objective of providing a reference for the clinical practice of PCD in China.
