Abstract:
Implant-supported prostheses have become a predictable and successful treatment for replacing missing teeth. Despite high success rates, screw loosening remains the most common mechanical complication. This dental technique describes a straightforward, conservative, and cost-effective technique using a sterile surgical glove to retrieve a damaged implant abutment screw safely. A small piece of sterile surgical glove is placed over the damaged screw head before engaging the screwdriver. The glove acts as an interface, increasing frictional contact between the screwdriver and screw head. This enhanced grip enables successful screw retrieval without additional equipment or risk to the implant.
