Background:

Intentionality is a key factor in developing the transpersonal caring relationship (TCR).
The Mindful Caring Education Program (EP) was designed to enhance nurses' intentionality within the TCR.

Purpose of the Study:

To explore and understand nurses' intentionality in the TCR following participation in the Mindful Caring Education Program.
To identify factors that facilitate or hinder nurses' intentionality in clinical practice.

Main Methods:

A technical action research design was employed, involving planning, implementation, and evaluation phases.
A four-session education program based on Unitary Caring Science was developed and delivered.
Data collection utilized clinical observations, individual interviews, and vignettes, with content analysis for evaluation.

Main Results:

Nurses perceived intentionality as holistic and purposeful actions.
Facilitating factors included authentic presence, helping-trusting relationships, and positive work environments.
Hindering factors comprised boundary issues, heavy workloads, fatigue, and family interference.
Nurses reported significant personal and professional growth post-program.

Conclusions:

The Mindful Caring Education Program fostered increased self-awareness in nurses.
Understanding facilitators and hindrances is crucial for promoting intentionality in nursing care.
The study highlights the transformative potential of mindful education on nursing practice and relationships.
