AbstractHigh-risk pregnancies present significant counseling challenges, as they often involve complex medical decisions under conditions of uncertainty and emotional stress for both parent and fetus. Preeclampsia, a hypertensive condition of pregnancy affecting end organ function, is one such condition that is commonly encountered in the high-risk obstetric field. Preeclampsia with severe features can cause symptoms or laboratory abnormalities indicating dysfunction of the liver, kidneys, and brain and can lead to seizures, stroke, renal failure, and other severe dysregulations.
