[Artificial intelligence and disinformation in health: The need for re-education from primary care]

The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the way people access health information, offering great opportunities but also posing risks related to misinformation. Its impact is particularly evident among individuals with low digital or health literacy, which may exacerbate existing inequalities. A review of recent literature highlights the need for an ethical and critical approach to AI use, driven by Primary Care as a key space for trust and education. Healthcare professionals, together with patients and the community, should engage in training strategies and programs that promote the responsible use of these tools. Although AI enhances accessibility and informational efficiency, it also requires constant oversight to prevent biases and errors. Primary Care is positioned as the central axis for leading an ethical and equitable use of this technology.
