Radiotheranostics is rapidly expanding within cancer clinical practice, combining diagnostic imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy. As this modality becomes increasingly integrated into cancer care, there is growing interest in understanding radiotheranostics, how it compares to external beam radiation therapy, and the practical, clinical, and workflow considerations associated with an expanding Medical Radiation Technologist role within this evolving treatment landscape. This commentary explores five relevant themes of interest to radiation therapists: managing treatment side effects, radiopharmaceutical production, patient scheduling, coordination of care in multidisciplinary settings, and quality assurance processes.
