Abstract
None:
We report a continuous-wave high-power Yb:Y2O3 transparent ceramics thin-disk laser with a single-crystal silicon carbide (SiC) heat sink. Pumped at 976 nm, the thin-disk laser delivered a maximum output power of 600 W at 1031.7 nm with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 60.5%. To the best of our knowledge, this work reports the first realization of a multi-hundred-watt Yb:Y2O3 ceramic thin-disk laser employing a SiC substrate. The achieved results validate the potential of integrating Yb:sesquioxide ceramics with SiC heat sinks for high-power thin-disk laser operation.
