Abstract:
Calcification of abdominal aorta in patients with aortoiliac occlusive diseases is unfavorable prognostic factor for abdominal aortic surgery. Technical difficulties associated with aortic clamping increase intraoperative risks of complications including bleeding. Aortic balloon occlusion in these patients is an option for aortic clamping that reduces the risk of intraoperative bleeding. We present aortic balloon occlusion in a patient with Leriche syndrome and total calcification of abdominal aorta.
