Divide or subtract: transferrin saturation versus unbound iron binding capacity (UIBC)

Unbound iron binding capacity (UIBC) offers superior accuracy for diagnosing iron deficiency compared to transferrin saturation (TSAT). UIBC is also less affected by inflammation, making it a more reliable indicator.
