Nanofluidic neuromimetic devices represent a promising technique for realizing the brain-inspired functions, yet one immediate problem that needs to be addressed to further its capability is the incorporation of biochemical specificity. Here, we report a nanofluidic biosensing spiking synapse based on the nanoconfinement of an enzyme-incorporated metal-organic framework (MOF) within a nanochannel. Upon such a device, biochemical-tunable spiking width, number, and frequency could be mimicked. The excellent stability of the biochemical-tunable nanofluidic spiking was further confirmed. This work provides a prototype for the design and development of artificial biosensing spiking synapses in nanofluidic systems.
