Abstract:
Two previously undescribed sesquiterpenes (1 and 2), one meroterpenoid (3), and one cyclic peptide (4), together with four known metabolites (5-8) were isolated from Talaromyces sp. BHM8-7. Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic techniques, such as 1D and 2D NMR, HRESIMS, ECD calculations, and the advanced Marfey's method following acid hydrolysis. Among the isolates, compound 5 exhibited significant inhibitory activity against nitric oxide (NO) production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells without observable cytotoxicity. In addition, compounds 1 and 5 displayed potent cytotoxic effects on both SK-OV-3 and HCT-8 cells.
