We developed a scaled model to visualize nanoparticle surface space, making molecular-level constraints tangible. This aids understanding of nanoparticle functionalization for better experimental design and education.
Area of Science:
- Nanotechnology
- Materials Science
- Biophysics
Background:
- Nanoparticle design relies on molecular-level spatial control.
- Surface functionalization metrics like ligand density are often abstract.
- Visualizing available surface space on nanoparticles is challenging.
