Conclusions:

  • Negative cognitive patterns, like catastrophic thinking, are linked to lower environmental awareness.
  • Problem-solving attitudes partially mediate this relationship, suggesting interventions should target cognitive distortions.
  • Addressing general cognitive distortions is important for enhancing environmental awareness, even in the absence of climate-specific anxiety.
