Squeaking Knee After All-Inside Meniscus Repair with All-Suture Implants: A Report of 3 Cases

Case:
Three patients developed audible squeaking following all-inside meniscus repair with all-suture implants. Implant displacement in 1 patient required arthroscopic removal with partial meniscectomy, which resolved symptoms. The other 2 patients experienced squeaking that developed shortly after surgery and by 3 months postoperatively, both resolving spontaneously within 6 months without further intervention.
Conclusion:
Audible squeaking is a potential complication of all-suture, all-inside meniscus repair implants. These cases suggest that internal friction related to implant design and tensioning may contribute to this phenomenon. Recognition of this complication is important, as symptoms may resolve spontaneously and do not always require revision surgery.
