Background:
DICER1 syndrome, also known as the familial pleuropulmonary blastoma predisposition syndrome, is an autosomal dominant hereditary tumor susceptibility syndrome. Follicular nodular disease (FND) is a benign thyroid condition and represents one of the most common phenotypes of DICER1 syndrome.
Case Presentation:
We report a female patient with FND in whom DICER1 syndrome was subsequently confirmed. She was successfully treated with ultrasound-guided microwave ablation, and we describe her clinical course in detail.
Conclusion:
This case underscores the importance of considering DICER1 syndrome in young patients with FND and illustrates that microwave ablation can be a safe and effective therapeutic option.
