Abstract:
People with intellectual disabilities face major biopsychosocial inequalities. The latter are responsible for significant vulnerability and increase the risk of developing problematic use, or even substance use disorder. The consequences may be significant, while access to appropriate support is difficult. It is necessary to train healthcare and social professionals and develop tailored prevention, screening, and treatment supports.
