The interdisciplinary field of psychoneuroimmunology has the potential to greatly advance the understanding of both somatic and psychiatric conditions. Given the strong translational potential of this field, the stakes are high to maximize the cumulative value of the field by ensuring rigorous research standards. One tool to support these goals is the adoption of transparency practices. This report provides the descriptive statistics of transparency practices (open access publication, open analysis code, open data, shared statistical output, and preregistered hypotheses) in articles published in Brain, Behavior, & Immunity in 2024 to establish the current state of the field and serve as a baseline against which future trends can be measured.
