Although people with mental disorders are more often victims of violence than perpetrators, psychiatric dangerousness remains a widely publicized and controversial topic. It is important to examine the epidemiological reality and address the psychodynamics of dangerous behavior, as well as its risk factors and assessment tools, but also to discuss traditional approaches to care, as any therapeutic approach must respect the uniqueness of each patient.
