Abstract:
Although significant progress has been made in medical education in China, the traditional education model is no longer capable of meeting the requirements for cultivating high-quality medical talents in the current era. The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has created unprecedented opportunities to transform traditional educational models. AI can optimize the acquisition of medical information, provide students with timely and personalized learning support, enhance clinical diagnosis and treatment capabilities, bridge the gap between medical education and real-world practice, and improve teaching efficiency and quality. However, the application of AI in medical education faces several challenges. An intelligent medical education system that is efficient, high-quality, and humanistic care is warranted. It is suggested to improve top-level design and promote coordinated advancement in the intelligent transformation of medical education; foster multi-party collaboration to develop an "AI + medical education" agent; and enhance AI literacy among both teachers and students, as well as form a new educational relationship of "teacher-student-AI" trinity.
