Purpose of the Study:

  • To comprehensively evaluate cardiovascular disease knowledge among the Jordanian population.
  • To identify specific areas of low knowledge regarding CVDs, including symptoms, risk factors, and epidemiology.

Main Methods:

  • A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with 1,050 participants in Jordan.
  • Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire assessing knowledge across five domains: diet, epidemiology, medical information, risk factors, and heart attack symptoms.
  • Convenience sampling was employed to recruit participants.

Main Results:

  • The overall mean score for cardiovascular knowledge was 18.8 out of 30.
  • Participants demonstrated lowest knowledge in identifying heart attack symptoms (2.2/4) and recognizing cardiac epidemiology (2.5/4).
