    Summary

    This study detected gonococcal antibodies in 92% of patients with gonorrhea using counterimmunoelectrophoresis (CIE). Gonococcal antigens were also identified in 82.3% of patients, aiding in diagnosing this sexually transmitted infection.

    Background:

    • Neisseria gonorrhoeae causes gonorrhea, a significant public health concern.

    • These immunologic assays can differentiate gonorrhea from other conditions.
