The World Transplant Congress 2025 had many exciting updates in the field of transplant infectious disease. A brief overview of selected studies is presented here, including research on viruses, bacteria, fungi, and vaccines, based on clinical impact, novelty, and applicability. Many other high-quality abstracts were presented that provided important new data about infections in transplant recipients (https://cattendee.abstractsonline.com/meeting/21176/meeting-info?view=appendToCards&initialSearchId=1&searchId=1), which have been published in a supplement to The American Journal of Transplantation .
