Advanced stomach cancer is incredibly difficult to treat, as tumor cells can hide throughout the abdomen, evading surgery and chemotherapy. Current treatments often cause severe side effects and are not fully effective. Researchers at the University of Texas are developing a new therapy that combines engineered proteins with near-infrared light to precisely target cancer cells, offering a promising, less toxic approach for stomach cancer.
