This study developed a precise method to measure sphingosine (SP), dihydro-sphingosine (DSP), and sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) in plasma. Elevated levels of these sphingolipids were found in patients with metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD).
