Multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diffuse large B cell lymphoma with tracheal invasion: a case

Background:
Primary thyroid lymphoma (PTL) is a rare malignant tumor that grows rapidly, with tracheal compression being a common symptom. Surgical removal of the tumor to relieve tracheal compression plays a crucial role in improving the patient's quality of life.
Case Presentation:
We report a case of a 66-year-old female patient of Han ethnicity (China) with primary thyroid diffuse large B cell lymphoma accompanied by tracheal invasion. The patient underwent total thyroidectomy followed by a rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone chemotherapy regimen, achieving complete remission of tracheal invasion.
Conclusion:
This case demonstrates the significant value of multidisciplinary collaboration in managing locally advanced primary thyroid lymphoma, which successfully avoided resecting the patient's trachea and greatly improved their quality of life.
